Bio

I know how overwhelming bringing your newborn home can feel. Whether you're transitioning your baby from the NICU or starting your journey straight from the delivery, the sleepless nights, the fear of being unprepared, and the constant worry about providing the proper care can feel like a heavy burden. And when you’re recovering from childbirth, both physically and emotionally, it’s easy to feel like the weight of it all is just too much.

But you don’t have to go through this alone.

As a postpartum specialist, doula, and NICU RN, I’m here to guide you through this vulnerable time with personalized, expert in-home care. I’ll answer all your questions, calm your fears, and provide the hands-on support you need so that you can focus on what truly matters—bonding with your baby and healing yourself.

Are any of these thoughts familiar?

"How do I navigate my baby’s unique needs?"

"I’m still recovering from childbirth, and it feels like I’m falling behind."

"I don’t have the specialized knowledge to care for my baby."

What if you could have confidence in caring for your baby?

What if you could feel peace of mind, knowing you’re doing all that you can and focusing on progress rather than perfection? What if you had the support you deserve during your postpartum recovery?

I understand the fears, too:

"What if something goes wrong with my baby at home?"

"What if I’m not enough for my baby?"

"I’m scared I’ll never feel like myself again."

This is where I come in. I provide compassionate, personalized care to meet the needs of both you and your baby. With my postpartum expertise and NICU nursing experience, I combine professional knowledge with emotional support to ensure you feel empowered—not overwhelmed. Whether it’s helping you understand your baby’s feeding needs, offering lactation support, or guiding you through infant care, I’m here to support every step of your journey.

Let me help take some of that weight off your shoulders so you can go from surviving to thriving as a new parent. Together, we’ll give you the confidence and reassurance you need to embrace this new chapter with your baby.

  • "I cannot thank Dorret enough! I had such a hard time breastfeeding, and my daughter had such a hard time latching, and I felt overwhelmed and defeated. But Dorret was ever so patient with my baby and me; she did not make me feel rushed. Her calm British accent was ever so soothing, and she always treated us with such dignity and respect. Thanks to Dorret, each feeding went a little better over time, and eventually, I could feed my baby by myself. With Dorret's help, we were able to turn the situation around!"

  • "Our nurse Dorret was so calm and patient. As a new dad, I never expected to be in the NICU, and with my wife too ill to visit our son after delivery, I was so shocked because this was not meant to happen. But then Dorret stepped in. I’ll never forget the moment she patiently explained everything to me and showed me how to feed my son and change his diaper for the very first time. I felt so empowered like I could really step into my role as a dad! I’ll always be grateful for her support during such a difficult time."

  • "Dorret was there for us when we needed her the most. We were so worried when it was time to transition home after life in the NICU. There, we had so much support from the doctors, nurses, and therapists, but I felt like such an imposter because we no longer would have that help. Thankfully, we found Dorret and her support has been invaluable. She helped us feel confident and prepared for discharge and gave us practical advice that made a big difference. Dorret taught us how to swaddle bathe our baby, something I had never heard of before, but she really liked it because she was not cold in the water and showed us how to soothe our baby using gentle massage techniques. She respected our attachment parenting style and helped us feel confident in establishing our baby-led routine that fits perfectly with our family. Her compassion and expertise made this transition so much easier, and we honestly couldn't have done it without her."
