Bio
I have always loved babies. As the oldest of six, caring for babies came naturally to me from the time I was a very little girl. After raising three children of my own and years working as a nanny and newborn care specialist, it became evident to me that the best way to take care of babies is to take care of their parents. So, I became certified as a postpartum doula and lactation counselor. My passion is to use my training and experience to ensure that new families get the very best support right from the beginning of their parenting journeys.
I’m an INA (International Nanny Association) credentialed newborn care specialist (NCS), a certified postpartum and infant care doula (CD-PIC), and a certified lactation counselor (CLC). I have decades of experience in newborn care and am exceptionally skillful at guiding first-time parents through the earliest phase of their babies’ lives.
A life-long learner, I hold additional certifications in pediatric CPR and first aid, pediatric sleep shaping, managing multiples, postpartum mood disorders, and infant loss/bereavement support. I have taken extra steps and have received an NCS certificate from CACHE, formerly known as the famed National Nursery Examinations Board (NNEB) in the UK, and have completed Level I certification in Relationship Foundations for new parents with Becoming Us. I’ve completed National Covid-ready Caregiver certification, and I follow all AAP, WHO, and CDC guidelines for postpartum and infant care. I’m a current member of the International Nanny Association, as well as Postpartum Support International (PSI), and the Newborn Care Specialist Association (NCSA).
When I’m not busy helping new families transition to life with a newborn, I’m writing, creating courses for new parents, studying languages, adventuring with my dog and husband, and enjoying all that San Diego offers.
